In a pivotal initiative to enhance employment in the BFSI sector, Honorable Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri Revanth Reddy Garu, launched the BFSI Skill Development Program as a minor degree in local colleges, along with the EQUIPPP Skill Portal for outcome tracking. The event at JNAFAU Auditorium was attended by government officials, industry leaders, and academics.
Designed by industry professionals, the program aims to bridge skill gaps in Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) Global Capacity Centers (GCCs) in response to the growing demand from companies like HSBC and JP Morgan in Hyderabad. The Chief Minister emphasized that the program will support at least 10,000 students over the next three years, equipping Telangana’s youth for success in the BFSI sector.
A key highlight of the event was the launch of the EQUIPPP Skill Portal, created by 3.0 Labs, to monitor the BFSI Skill Development Program. This portal will provide real-time data on student performance, assessments, and placement outcomes, ensuring transparency for government officials, CSR sponsors, and stakeholders.
Shri Revanth Reddy Garu noted that the portal will enhance collaboration between the government and CSR initiatives, maximizing social returns on investment. The Telangana Government aims to leverage such technology for other projects, including Skill University and Future City.
Honorable IT Minister, Shri Sridhar Babu Garu, underscored the government’s commitment to tackling high attrition rates and the skills gap in the BFSI sector, expressing hope for innovative funding models to support Telangana’s growth.
