RITES Ltd., a leading transport infrastructure consultancy, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Etihad Rail, the operator of the UAE National Rail Network, to collaborate on railway and infrastructure development in the UAE and surrounding areas.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Shadi Malak, CEO of Etihad Rail, and Mr. Rahul Mithal, Chairman and Managing Director of RITES Ltd., at the Global Rail Transport Infrastructure Exhibition & Conference in Abu Dhabi.
This partnership will focus on opportunities related to rolling stock supply, consultancy, project management, and maintenance services, aiming to enhance the efficiency of rail services. It also includes capacity analysis of rail corridors to improve logistics and trade routes.
Both companies plan to leverage advanced technology and share knowledge to modernize rail operations. Mr. Mithal emphasized the collaboration’s role in sustainable infrastructure development, while Mr. Malak highlighted its potential to transform the transportation landscape in the UAE.
