  • L&T Construction Power Transmission & Distribution business has selected the Renewable EPC division as the complete Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contractor for setting up a 1800MWac Solar Photovoltaic Plant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
  • This initiative represents the sixth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Upon completion, the plant is anticipated to mitigate approximately 2.4 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
  • Covering an expansive area of 20 square kilometers, the project will be executed in three distinct phases. Beyond the Photovoltaic plant itself, the project scope encompasses various evacuation and interconnection arrangements, such as two Gas Insulated Substations, high voltage underground cabling, and medium voltage distribution networks.
  • Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar, a leading force in clean energy within the UAE, has inked a Power Purchase Agreement with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to spearhead the development of the project. Under the agreement, DEWA will maintain a 60% stake in the project and act as the exclusive off-taker for the power generated by the plant.
  • The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park holds the distinction of being the largest single-site solar park globally under the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model. With a projected production capacity of 5,000 MW by 2030, upon completion, it is poised to mitigate over 6.5 million tons of carbon emissions annually. The Solar Park plays a pivotal role in both the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and DEWA’s strategic endeavor for achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
  • The total value of the order ranges from 10,000 crore rupees to 15,000 crore rupees.
