The Government of Andhra Pradesh has authorized the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) to proceed with awarding a major infrastructure contract for the Amaravati Government Complex area.
As per Government Order (G.O. Rt. No. 939) issued by the Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department, the Commissioner of APCRDA has been permitted to issue a Letter of Acceptance to Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL), the lowest bidder for the project.
The contract involves the construction of roads, drains, water supply systems, sewerage, power and ICT utility ducts, reuse water pipelines, and avenue plantation to support trunk infrastructure in Amaravati’s government complex layouts. The project will be executed on a lump-sum basis, including a defect liability period (DLP) of two years and operations & maintenance (O&M) for seven years.
The bid submitted by MEIL amounts to ₹713.31 crore, which is 4.55% higher than the estimated contract value (ECV) of ₹682.27 crore, excluding taxes and duties.
The Amaravati Government Complex is planned as the core administrative hub of Andhra Pradesh’s capital city. It is envisioned to house key government offices, assembly buildings, and supporting civic infrastructure. The development of this complex is seen as a crucial step in shaping Amaravati into a modern capital with integrated administrative, civic, and public facilities.
The decision follows the 52nd APCRDA Authority meeting held on September 2, 2025, where Resolution No. 574/2025 approved the tender. The state government has directed the APCRDA Commissioner to implement the decision and move forward with the project.
