India : Blue Star Limited has unveiled its new lineup of room air conditioners, featuring both an “affordable” and a “premium” range, in anticipation of the upcoming summer season. With over 100 models introduced, including inverter, fixed speed, and window ACs, the company aims to cater to diverse consumer segments. The rising demand for room ACs, driven by the growing middle class and the product’s increasing necessity, particularly in Tier 2, 3, and 4 markets, has sparked interest from both first-time buyers and those seeking replacements.

The company has introduced three categories within the inverter split AC segment: flagship, premium, and affordable ranges. These encompass 2-star, 3-star, and 5-star variants, offering various cooling capacities ranging from 0.8 TR to 2.2 TR, all starting at attractive prices beginning from Rs 29,990.Blue Star’s ‘Super Energy-Efficient ACs’ feature Dynamic Drive Technology, offering optimized cooling and enhanced energy efficiency through high airflow volumes. Consequently, the 1 TR Inverter Split ACs achieve a 6.25 ISEER, marking a 64% increase in energy efficiency compared to a 3-Star Inverter AC.

Blue Star, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Blue Star Climatech Limited, has established a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, which commenced commercial production in January 2023. Additionally, Blue Star operates two plants in Himachal Pradesh dedicated to manufacturing room ACs. These facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art automation techniques and tools for assembly lines and material handling, alongside extensive deployment of initiatives towards IoT and digitization. With these plants, Blue Star’s production capacity for room ACs now exceeds one million units, with plans to gradually scale up to 1.8 million units in the future.
