Tanzania | Jaipur : Gravita India Limited, a prominent player in the recycling industry with a global manufacturing presence, announces that its subsidiary, Gravita Tanzania Limited, has augmented the capacity of its existing recycling unit in Tanzania. The expansion adds 5,000 Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) to the unit’s battery recycling capacity, bringing the total capacity to 12,000 MTPA.
This move aligns with Gravita’s strategic target to achieve a total group capacity of 4,25,000 MTPA by the fiscal year 2026, now reaching a total of 2,90,859 MTPA. The increased production will serve the global battery industry’s demands and contribute to establishing a circular economy within the recycling market worldwide. The investment for this expansion, amounting to approximately Rs 3.33 Crores, has been financed through the company’s internal accruals.
