Mumbai, India : JSW Neo Energy Limited (JSW Neo), a wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has obtained a Letter of Award (LoA) from SJVN Limited for a 700 MW solar capacity project connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS). This award comes from a Tariff-based Competitive Bid tender initiated by SJVN Limited for establishing 1,500 MW ISTS-connected Solar Power Projects.
After securing the 700 MW capacity from SJVN Ltd, the Company’s total committed capacity rises to 11.0 GW, including 1.4 GW of solar capacity. The project is mandated to deliver power at the full contracted capacity within 24 months from the effective date of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
JSW Energy’s total locked-in generation capacity stands at 11.0 GW, comprising 7.2 GW operational, 2.6 GW under construction (across wind, thermal, and hydro), and LoAs for 1.2 GW capacity from SECI (Tranche – XVI) and SJVN. Additionally, the company holds 3.4 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity via battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects. By CY2024, JSW Energy aims to increase its operational generation capacity to 9.8 GW from the current 7.2 GW. The company targets a generation capacity of 20 GW and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030. Moreover, JSW Energy has set an ambitious goal of reducing its carbon footprint by 50% by 2030 and achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
