Ola Electric has announced the opening of its first set of network-partner dealer stores across India, marking a shift towards a dealer-led distribution model as the electric two-wheeler manufacturer seeks to expand its retail presence and improve customer access.
The first wave of dealer-operated outlets has gone live across Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Bihar, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The company said the stores have been established in key regional markets to cater to local demand for Ola Electric scooters and motorcycles.
The development comes less than a month after Ola Electric opened its sales and service network to dealer partners. According to the company, the first partner stores became operational within a month of the network being opened, indicating early interest from dealers in the company’s product portfolio.
Ola Electric Targets 500+ Dealerships
Ola Electric is targeting a 500+ dealership footprint over the next couple of quarters as part of its retail expansion strategy. The company said its existing company-owned stores will transition into a broader product experience network.
The dealer-led model is expected to support wider geographic penetration, greater accessibility for customers and faster expansion of Ola Electric’s retail network across India.
The company had initially relied on a fully company-owned retail model when it launched its first electric scooter. It has now begun transitioning towards a partner distribution network as it looks to deepen its presence across regional markets.
Dealer Network to Support EV Expansion
Manoj Murali, Chief Business Officer at Ola Electric, said the company’s earlier company-owned retail network helped establish the brand, create awareness and build a large customer base. With the foundation established, the company is now expanding its dealer network to take its product ecosystem deeper into markets across India.
Ola Electric’s S1Z range starts at ₹79,999, according to the company. The manufacturer said its dealer partners will play a role in expanding access to its electric vehicle portfolio and supporting wider EV adoption.
The company has invited prospective dealers interested in joining the network to apply through its partner portal.
Ola Electric’s Broader Manufacturing and EV Strategy
Ola Electric Mobility operates across the electric vehicle value chain, including the development and manufacturing of EVs and components such as battery cells, battery packs, motors and vehicle frames.
The company’s research and development operations span India, the UK and the US, while its EV manufacturing and technology ecosystem includes the Ola Futurefactory and Gigafactory initiatives in Tamil Nadu.
With the expansion of its dealer network, Ola Electric is seeking to complement its existing distribution infrastructure with a wider network of local retail partners. The move comes as competition in India’s electric two-wheeler market continues to expand, making retail reach and customer accessibility increasingly important for EV manufacturers.
