Optiemus Infracom Limited announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Optiemus Electronics Limited (OEL), has entered into a manufacturing agreement with Ai+ Smartphone to produce smartphones, tablets, IoT devices, and advanced wearable products in India.
The partnership is expected to strengthen domestic electronics manufacturing and aligns with the Government of India’s Make in India initiative. Under the agreement, the companies plan to invest approximately ₹125 crore in India-based manufacturing over the next five years.
As part of the collaboration, Optiemus Electronics will manufacture around 3 million Ai+ smartphones. The manufacturing scope will also include tablets, Internet of Things (IoT) products, and advanced wearable devices. Production is expected to begin at OEL’s manufacturing facility in Noida, with operations scheduled to ramp up from April 2026.
The project is anticipated to generate about 1,200 direct and indirect employment opportunities across manufacturing, operations, and supporting functions.
Ai+ smartphones operate on NxtQuantum OS, described as India’s sovereign mobile operating system built on Android. The platform is designed to focus on transparency, security, and compliance with Indian data regulations.
Madhav Sheth, CEO of Ai+ Smartphone and founder of NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, stated that the collaboration represents a step toward building a strong Indian technology ecosystem. He noted that the partnership combines OEL’s electronics manufacturing capabilities with Ai+ Smartphone’s India-developed software ecosystem across smartphones, tablets, AIoT devices, and wearables.
Ashok Gupta, Director at Optiemus Electronics Limited, said the company is pleased to partner with Ai+ Smartphone to scale production of smartphones and related device categories from India. He added that the collaboration will support the growth of domestic electronics manufacturing while creating opportunities for export-oriented expansion in the future.
The agreement is expected to help Ai+ Smartphone expand its device portfolio while building a scalable production base in India. The partnership is also aimed at strengthening supply chains, enhancing manufacturing capacity, and supporting the long-term development of an India-focused technology brand across connected devices.
