Mumbai, September 29, 2025: Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, has entered into a strategic partnership with VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV) to accelerate the adoption of electric commercial vehicles in India. The collaboration aims to support truck and bus operators transitioning to sustainable mobility solutions.
As part of the agreement, Tata Power will leverage its EZ Charge network and expertise in customised charging solutions, while VECV will bring its knowledge in energy efficiency to optimise electric trucks and buses, including the newly launched Eicher Pro X range of small commercial vehicles. The two companies will jointly engage with Eicher Trucks and Buses customers to enable seamless integration of electric vehicles in commercial operations.
The partnership will focus on tackling critical challenges such as range anxiety, charging infrastructure availability, and cost factors. It also plans to extend the initiative across other models in Eicher’s electric vehicle portfolio, marking a significant step towards modernising India’s commercial mobility landscape.
Tata Power has built one of India’s largest EV charging infrastructures under the brand EZ Charge, with over 1.5 lakh home chargers, 5,500+ public and fleet charging points, and 1,200+ e-bus charging stations across more than 630 cities and towns. The network already serves over four lakh registered customers, with charging stations placed at highways, malls, hospitals, offices, depots, and residential complexes.
VECV, a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Limited, operates in 40 countries and is known for its comprehensive range of trucks and buses. The company plays a key role in modernising India’s transport industry and promoting sustainable mobility solutions.
