Olectra Greentech Limited has announced the commencement of commercial operations for Phase I of its greenfield electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, marking a key milestone in the company’s capacity expansion plans. The company has declared 31 December 2025 as the commercial operation date for the new facility located at Seetharampur, Telangana.
The Phase I operations bring an annual per-shift manufacturing capacity of 2,500 electric buses. This capacity represents half of the company’s planned per-shift annual production target of 5,000 buses once the facility is fully scaled. The development is expected to strengthen Olectra Greentech’s manufacturing capabilities amid rising demand for electric buses across India.
As part of the regulatory disclosure, the company has informed its lender, State Bank of India, about the commencement of commercial operations. The start of Phase I production is expected to support current and upcoming electric bus orders while laying the foundation for further capacity expansion at the Hyderabad facility.
