Bondada Engineering Limited has received a Letter of Award from AP TRANSCO for the development of a large-scale standalone Battery Energy Storage System project in Andhra Pradesh. The project involves setting up a 225 MW 450 MWh BESS at the 400/220 kV Hindupur substation in Anantapur district.
The project will be implemented under the Build Own Operate model with a total contract value of ₹627 crore. The execution timeline for the project is estimated at 18 months from the date of receipt of the Letter of Award. The order has been awarded by a domestic entity and does not fall under related party transactions.
Following this development, Bondada Engineering’s cumulative battery energy storage capacity has expanded to nearly 1 GWh. The company indicated that the project adds a long-term annuity-based revenue stream, supporting improved revenue stability, predictable cash flows, and enhanced earnings visibility.
The project aligns with India’s grid-scale energy transition initiatives and the increasing emphasis on storage-led infrastructure to support renewable energy integration. Upon completion, the project is expected to contribute steadily to revenues while strengthening Bondada Engineering’s position in the evolving energy storage sector.
