RPP Infra Projects Limited has received a major infrastructure work order worth Rs 205.89 crore from the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu for the establishment of a Global Sports City in Chennai. The company announced the development through a regulatory disclosure.
The project will be executed under an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model and includes responsibilities covering design, engineering, procurement, and construction activities. The order value includes Goods and Services Tax at 18 percent.
Under the agreement, RPP Infra Projects has been appointed as the contractor for the large-scale sports infrastructure development following acceptance of its tender. The project is scheduled to be completed within 18 months from the date of handing over the site.
The Global Sports City initiative is expected to strengthen sports infrastructure in Tamil Nadu by creating modern training and competition facilities. The contract has been awarded by a domestic government entity, and the company stated that the transaction does not fall under related party dealings.
As part of contractual requirements, RPP Infra Projects will provide a performance security deposit equivalent to 3 percent of the contract value, valid through the defect liability period of 36 months after completion. The company is also required to submit a detailed execution schedule outlining milestones, manpower deployment, and machinery planning within 21 days of receiving the work order.
