Hi-Tech Pipes Limited has commenced commercial production at its greenfield manufacturing facility in Kathua Jammu and Kashmir marking a key milestone in the company’s expansion strategy. The new plant has an installed capacity of 80000 tonnes per annum and is designed to manufacture ERW steel pipes along with coated and other value-added steel products.
The Kathua facility has been developed with modern manufacturing infrastructure advanced automation and robust quality control systems. With this commissioning Hi-Tech Pipes is now close to achieving one million tonnes of total installed manufacturing capacity reinforcing its position among the fastest-growing steel tube and pipe manufacturers in India. The location of the plant provides logistical advantages enabling cost-effective and timely supply to customers across Jammu and Kashmir Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
The company stated that the new unit aligns with its strategic focus on increasing the share of value-added products in its overall sales mix. A higher contribution from coated and specialized steel products is expected to improve realizations and EBITDA per tonne over the medium to long term. The newly commissioned capacity is expected to start contributing meaningfully from mid of Q4 FY26 supporting both volume growth and profitability while strengthening Hi-Tech Pipes’ long-term manufacturing platform in northern India.
