Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a leading entity in India’s renewable energy sector and a subsidiary of Tata Power, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rajasthan’s power distribution companies (Discoms), including Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL), Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (AVVNL), and Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JDVVNL). This collaboration aims to accelerate renewable energy adoption and conservation across Rajasthan, with a particular focus on promoting the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijali Yojana (PMSG:MBY) in residential areas.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Additional Chief Secretary – Energy, Mr. Alok; Chairperson of the Discoms, Ms. Arti Dogra; and the Managing Directors of JVVNL and AVVNL. Representing TPREL were Mr. Deepesh Nanda, CEO & Managing Director, and Mr. Shivram Bikkina, Chief of Solar Rooftop & EV Charging Business. Senior officials from the PMSG:MBY initiative across all three Discoms, including the Chief Engineer (CE), Senior Engineer (SE), and Director Technical, along with junior staff members, were also present.
The agreement outlines key initiatives to accelerate the adoption of rooftop solar solutions in Rajasthan. TPREL and the Discoms will jointly conduct awareness campaigns promoting solar energy, particularly the PMSG:MBY scheme, to help residential consumers access clean and affordable power. The initial phase will focus on cities such as Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, and Bikaner, with a vision to expand statewide. Additionally, the partnership includes exclusive pricing and vendor training to streamline and expedite solar installations, further advancing the state’s renewable energy goals.
