WABAG has secured a significant consortium order valued at USD 371 million (~INR 3,251 crores) for the Al Haer Independent Sewage Treatment Plant in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. WABAG, a prominent Indian multinational specializing in water technology, continues to strengthen its presence in the Middle East. The order, awarded by Al Haer Environmental Services Company, is for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of a 200 MLD Independent Sewage Treatment Plant (ISTP), including connections to outfall delivery facilities.
The project is being developed by a consortium of Miahona Company (lead), Marafiq, and N.V. Besix S.A. for the Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC), the primary off-taker for water and wastewater projects in Saudi Arabia. Earlier this year, WABAG also secured an Engineering and Procurement (EP) order for a 20 MLD Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (IWWTP) at the Ras Tanura Refinery Complex in Saudi Arabia, with Miahona Company as the project developer.
This new project adds to WABAG’s decades of experience in Saudi Arabia, where it has been involved in building and operating water and wastewater treatment plants. The EPC consortium for this project includes WABAG and Mutlaq Al-Ghowairi Contracting Company (MGC). As the Technology Partner, WABAG will be responsible for the design and construction of the 200 MLD ISTP, while MGC will manage the installation of transmission pipelines and the construction of reservoirs.
