ITI Limited, the country’s first PSU established after independence and a leading telecom manufacturing company, has secured an order valued at approximately Rs. 300 crore from the Bihar Renewable Energy Development Authority (BREDA). This order is for the supply and installation of 100,000 solar street light systems for the Bihar State Government. This new order is in addition to the 80,000 solar street light systems the company is currently deploying in Bihar for BREDA.

The company’s Naini Plant, which has been producing solar panels for the past six years, will fulfill this new order under the “Mukhyamantri Gramin Solar Street Light Yojana.” The order covers the districts of Gopalganj, Siwan, Samastipur, Purnia, Araria, Gaya, Darbhanga, Patna, Katihar, and Khagaria.

The systems will be installed under BREDA’s supervision and will include major components such as solar PV modules, solar batteries, LED luminaires, mounting structures, and balance of system (BOS).
