In March 2025, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.) reported sales of 83,894 vehicles, reflecting a 23% year-on-year growth. The increase in overall sales highlights the company’s performance in the highly competitive Indian automotive market. This growth was driven by a strong showing in the Utility Vehicles (UVs) and Commercial Vehicles (CVs) segments, as well as strategic efforts across various areas of its operations.
In the domestic market, Mahindra’s Utility Vehicles segment saw an 18% increase in sales, reaching 48,048 vehicles in March 2025. The growth in this segment, including models like the Bolero and XUV, continues to be a key factor in the company’s overall performance. Additionally, Mahindra started deliveries of its Electric Origin SUVs in March, with strong demand expected for this new offering as the company seeks to tap into the electric vehicle market.
The company’s total SUV sales for the fiscal year amounted to 551,487 units, marking a 20% increase compared to the previous year. This represents the highest number of SUVs sold by the company to date. Along with its SUV performance, Mahindra also ranked as the No. 2 passenger vehicle manufacturer by revenue and gained a 50% market share in the LCV (<3.5T) category, signaling a broader presence in the commercial vehicle sector.
Exports also showed growth, with a 163% increase in exports in March 2025, totaling 4,143 units. International operations saw a 41% year-over-year growth, indicating a rise in demand for Mahindra vehicles in global markets. This expansion outside of India plays a significant role in the company’s overall growth strategy.
The company ended the year with several notable industry recognitions, including being the only Indian automotive company to obtain the DJSI Index World Leader status. As Mahindra continues to focus on electric and commercial vehicles, its future growth will likely be influenced by its ability to maintain competitive pricing and continue innovating in a changing automotive landscape.
