To support the development of Renewable Energy Parks and Projects and contribute to the Government of India’s energy transition efforts, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on February 24, 2025, during the Global Investors Summit in Bhopal.
The MoU was exchanged in the esteemed presence of Dr. Mohan Yadav, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh; Sh. Gurdeep Singh, CMD (NTPC); Sh. Neeraj Mandloi (IAS), ACS (Energy), Government of Madhya Pradesh; along with other dignitaries from NTPC, NGEL, MPPGCL, and the Energy Department of Madhya Pradesh.
This MoU aims to foster collaboration in the renewable energy sector through the establishment of Solar, Wind, and Hybrid projects, with or without storage, with a capacity of up to 20 GW or more in Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, MPPGCL and NGEL will work together to form a Joint Venture Company (JVC) to fulfill the Renewable Generation Obligation (RGO) of Madhya Pradesh Generating Company and the Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) of Madhya Pradesh DISCOMs.
