Patel Engineering Limited has been declared the lowest bidder (L1) for a ₹1,593.08 crore contract related to the 669 MW Lower Arun Hydropower Project in Nepal. The contract has been awarded by SJVN Lower Arun Power Development Company (P) Ltd., a subsidiary of SJVN.

This development marks a significant addition to the company’s international project portfolio, reinforcing its presence in the hydropower infrastructure segment.

Detailed Scope of Work

The awarded Package 2 involves a comprehensive range of civil and hydro-mechanical works critical to the project’s execution. The scope includes construction of key infrastructure such as head race tunnels, surge shafts, pressure shafts, and powerhouse systems.

  • Construction of Adit-5 and Adit-6 leading to the head race tunnel
  • Development of a 10.5-meter diameter tunnel extending 5.41 kilometers
  • Installation of surge shafts, pressure shafts, and butterfly valve chambers
  • Execution of powerhouse, switchyard, and tail race channel works
  • Installation of steel liners, draft tube gates, and related mechanical systems
