India :

  • Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a prominent figure in India’s renewable energy industry and a subsidiary of the Company, has effectively initiated the operation of a groundbreaking 1040 kW Bifacial Solar System project in collaboration with Chengmari Tea Estate, the largest tea estate in Asia. This milestone signifies the introduction of on-ground bifacial modules for the first time in eastern India.
  • Despite facing challenging monsoon conditions spanning 3.5 months, the project, which entailed installing roughly 1,900 modules, was accomplished within an impressive six-month timeframe. It is anticipated to produce an estimated 1.5 MUs of energy annually for the Tea Estate.
  • The pioneering installation of ground-mounted bifacial modules captures sunlight from both sides of the panels, resulting in heightened energy generation.
  • The project is projected to generate approximately 1.5 MUs of energy annually, reducing the carbon footprint by 29,420 lakh tonnes of CO2, which is equivalent to planting 47,000 teak trees.
