Tejas Networks [BSE: 540595, NSE: TEJASNET] has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Telecom Egypt (TE), ITIDA (Information Technology Industry Development Agency), and NTI (National Telecom Institute) to replicate its successful experience in implementing Bharatnet (Rural Broadband Project) and NKN (National Knowledge Network) projects in Egypt. The collaboration aims to extend cooperation beyond these projects to include capacity building for Egyptian engineers and technicians in cutting-edge telecom and networking technologies. Additionally, it involves establishing local manufacturing and R&D facilities for Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) products and providing technical support services within Egypt and the broader Africa and Middle East region.

Honorable Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt, commented, “Today’s MoU with Tejas Networks is a result of discussions initiated in January 2023 to enhance cooperation between Egypt and India in the field of communications and information technology. This comprehensive agreement aims to promote the localization of world-class communication products, attract new Indian investments into Egypt, create job opportunities, and develop research capabilities in various communication fields.”

Eng. Mohamed Nasr El-Din, CEO and Managing Director of Telecom Egypt, expressed his delight in entering a long-term strategic partnership with Tejas Networks, India’s leading R&D-driven telecom and networking products company. He highlighted Telecom Egypt’s commitment to enhancing its network infrastructure and technical capabilities through collaboration with global industry leaders.

Mr. Anand Athreya, CEO and Managing Director of Tejas Networks, emphasized the significance of the MoU in accelerating the vision of a Digital Egypt. He highlighted Tejas’s expertise in designing and delivering complex, carrier-class networks, offering to serve as a trusted advisor and technology partner for Egypt’s digital transformation journey.

Mr. Yogesh Verma, Vice President, Middle East and Africa (MEA), highlighted Tejas’s decade-long presence in the MEA region, showcasing its extensive knowledge of local requirements and operating conditions. He underlined the company’s recent advancements in 4G & 5G RAN products, providing an end-to-end portfolio for building both fixed and mobile networks, and expressed excitement about expanding business in the MEA region through collaboration with Telecom Egypt and other customers in the country.
