Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been selected as the technology and innovation partner for New Terminal One at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York. The partnership is aimed at supporting the terminal’s digital transformation and enhancing operational efficiency and passenger experience through advanced technology solutions.
As part of the collaboration, TCS will provide technology services across the new international terminal, including digital infrastructure, passenger processing systems, IT operations, enterprise applications, infrastructure management, and cybersecurity. The company will also support the integration of artificial intelligence and automation to improve airport operations.
The New Terminal One project forms a key part of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s US$19 billion redevelopment of JFK Airport. The broader modernization program includes two new terminals, expansion and renovation of existing facilities, a new ground transportation center, and improvements to the airport’s roadway network.
According to the company, the partnership will focus on creating a connected digital ecosystem that enables more efficient airport management while improving the passenger journey from arrival through departure. The technology deployment is expected to provide greater visibility into airport operations and help optimize decision-making across multiple functions.
TCS will implement its artificial intelligence-driven digital platforms to support predictive IT operations, operational monitoring, and management of critical airport systems. The solutions are designed to improve the reliability of airport services, streamline passenger processing, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
Jennifer Aument, Chief Executive Officer of New Terminal One, said the collaboration is intended to help deliver a modern international airport experience while supporting higher standards for airport operations and passenger services.
Amit Bajaj, President – North America at TCS, said airports are increasingly evolving into technology-enabled ecosystems where digital platforms connect operations, retail, and customer services. He added that the partnership is expected to support New Terminal One’s vision of delivering a seamless travel experience for global passengers.
TCS also said the project builds on its experience in the travel, transportation, and hospitality sector, where it works with airlines, airports, hotels, and logistics companies to modernize operations using artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, and data analytics.
The New Terminal One is expected to become one of the largest international terminals at JFK Airport, with the redevelopment project aiming to establish a next-generation gateway for international travelers visiting New York.
