In accordance with the Prime Minister’s vision for ensuring the nation’s energy security and providing affordable, sustainable, and continuous power supply to all, NLC India Limited has signed an MOU with the Government of Rajasthan today. This MOU establishes a joint venture aimed at setting up a 125 MW Lignite Based Power Plant and a massive 1000 MW Solar Power Plant. The distinguished guests at the event included Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal, and Mines Shri Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy Shri RK Singh, Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Smt Diya Kumari, Energy Minister Shri Heeralal Nagar, Chief Secretary Shri Sudhansh Pant, and Coal Secretary Shri Amrit Lal Meena.

This partnership involves a substantial investment exceeding Rs 7000 Crores and highlights the establishment of a 125 MW Lignite Pit-head Thermal Power Plant in Bikaner district and a significant 1000 MW Solar Power Plant. Additionally, an LOI for an 810 MW solar power plant has already been issued, aligning with NLC India’s corporate plan to become a major player in the power sector with a capacity of 17 GW, including over 6 GW in renewable energy, by 2030.

The MOU was ceremoniously exchanged between NLC India Limited and RVUNL, symbolizing a collaborative effort towards ensuring energy security. Other MOUs were also signed with Coal India Ltd, NTPC, PGCIL, and REC for capacity addition, transmission system development, and financing.

Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal, and Mines, Shri Pralhad Joshi, praised the proactive vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the steadfast commitment of CM Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma in expediting these transformative projects. He emphasized the significance of these projects and their MOUs being put on a fast-track mode.

Echoing sentiments of optimism, Coal Secretary Shri Amrit Lal Meena expressed confidence in the PSU’s prowess under the Coal Ministry, asserting that with the support provided by the Rajasthan Government, these projects will significantly enhance the nation’s energy security.

The exchange of MOUs signifies a determined step towards sustainable and robust energy infrastructure, aligning with the nation’s ambitious renewable energy targets.
